Wrapping up the Summer in a nutshell, here is August!

Took the kids up to Old Town Pasadena for Brothers Pies and Fries (an awesome walk up window pizza joint) and Cool Haus, a new storefront for an amazing Ice Cream truck that makes delicious ice cream Sammies with awesome flavors like rose petal, brown butter with candied bacon bits, balsamic fig and marscapone, pistachio truffle and dirty mint julep. They sandwich the ice cream between cookie flavors like course chocolate with sea salt, potato chip and butterscotch, gluten free coconut almond, and vegan chocolate truffle banana... Yeah it's ice cream and cookie heaven. We were pumped to attend the grand opening of the store. We got there just in time because the line wrapped around and outside like crazy by the time we left!

Months ago, my sweet friend NurseCeeJ and I created a video to submit in a contest for Big Lots Lots 2 Give. Our entry won a 2nd place prize of $5,000 for our school! During the online voting period, in store donations were accepted in $1 and $5 increments. That total was divided between all the schools in our market that participated in the contest. We got an extra $676!
Big Lots hosted a little check presentation in store complete with cake and balloons! We were very grateful to receive the award and their donation!

Months ago, after the Color run, we ate at a fun pizza place at the Irvine Spectrum called Pieology. We liked it so much, Mr. B and I looked into buying a franchise! The model was similar to a place that we loved in Seattle called M.O.D. Pizza. To our surprise, there were already several locations in our general area that were in the works. We excitedly awaited the opening of Pieology in Lakewood. Walking by one afternoon we saw a sign that said Training and that they would be opening in a few days! At Mr. B's encouragement, I went in to see what training meant. I met and congratulated the new owners telling them of how we had been waiting for them to open. They gave me a free pizza! I walked out feeling pretty good when the training manager came out after us to invite us inside to create a "training meal". We could order any pizza off the menu and get a drink for free. We were given play money to pay with and then we sat inside enjoying our free pies!
We went to a dodger game with our buddy Ro.
I wrapped up my cooking classes. They were TONS of fun and I learned a lot!
HeaBug said goodbye to her sweet buddy Summer since she was leaving for kindergarten.
She loves her teachers Ms. Oriana and Ms. Marietta.

This is how HeaBug rolls to the dentist.
Made this yummy and easy nectarine raspberry tart with the last of my pie dough.
Started a Bootcamp at No Limits Fitness. It's five days a week of full body training, lots of switching up of workout styles and  this first Friday morning was spent flipping tractor tires and swinging sledgehammers. We were filthy and it was awesome. My arms hurt so much by the end if the week that I couldn't put my hair up in a ponytail. This will continue for the next 3 months!

We went to the River with our friends, the Mabrys. A fun weekend with the kiddos. We took our boat from Needles down to Havasu to see the London Bridge.
Coming back home we stopped off at the Bass Pro shop. Never a shortage of fun things to do and see. The kids even got to try archery.
We said our final goodbyes to Auntie Kay. Katherine Aldridge, Gramma GG's sister was laid to rest at the National Cemetary in Riverside.

We went to Disneyland with our family! We took Gramma GG who hadn't been in a long time!
We also got to hang out with GK, Auntie Amber and our niece and nephew, Naima and Elisha! What an awesome day!
Loved this day!
Booth kids regularly get their workout on lol
Went to a Dodger Game with our friends the Mabrys (love them!)

It's been a super full summer of family, friends, work, traveling, food and baseball! But that's just how we like to live. Work hard and be good people. It's a good mantra.
