Post Birthday Lady Date

My dear friend, Mrs. Mabry and I celebrated our birthdays last month. But we didn't get to party together so we made a date for January. Lunch out at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in the Downtown Disney District and a movie.
Parking at Downtown Disney was craziness but we realized it was due to the Disney 1/2 Marathon  being run the next day. So while we had to walk a little farther, we didn't mind so much since parking was free! Nice!
We enjoyed yummy eats complete with candles on a birthday double chocolate soufflé and kid free, girlfriend chatting time.

The plan was to see "This is 40" but we finished our lunch too late to make it in time. We ended up seeing "Silver Linings Playbook" which was awesome by the way.

It was so fun to catch up with her. We spent the better part of our tween through young adult years quite attached and have since gone on to be married mamas now but taking time to get together like this just reminds me how lucky of a girl I am to be her friend. We've been through quite a lot of hand holding, hair holding (lol), shoulder sharing, birthday tears, laughing hysterically at silly things, meeting boyfriends and standing by each other as those boyfriends became our husbands, having babies, buying houses and growing up. Lucky for sure.

Happy Birthday to... Breeze

Beautiful Breezer,
Aging has made you cooler,
Birthdays suit you well.

We can't even say how much we love her. She's my person. You know, the person you'd call. The person that would laugh at your most embarrassing moments and then swear never to reveal them to another soul.

The person that will tell you stories while your in the car because your parents said you weren't driving far enough to watch Kung Fu Panda... not the short lame kind, the long, complicated, intricate, awesome, drawn out kind. The person that won't tell your wife if you were playing on the xbox. The person that will tell you the truth when you ask for it. The person that won't pass judgement, ever.
She's trustworthy and kind. Sarcastic and random. Fierce and loyal. She snorts when she laughs, that honest and awesome kinds of laugh. She gets my crazy, and that's a whole lot of crazy. She understands and embraces the faux-c-d tendencies I've passed on to her.

She's the actual best.

in the world.

no lie.

We celebrated her and JT with a trip to Disneyland (Thank You Fiebergs!) which was magic.

The Happiest Place

After 4 years, we gave up our Disney Ultimate passes after JT's 6th birthday celebration at The Disney Parks last year. We've definitely missed it but with JT in school and work we weren't able to make it out nearly as often as before so we decided not to renew.

One of our guys at Rock Steady, Klaus, was kind enough to sign in our family. We went the whole day from 9am-11pm. We hit the park like tourists and had a total blast!

Finally got to see World of Color and ride the new mermaid ride. We played in both Disneyland and California Adventure on what had to have been one of the hottest days of the summer!
Ready for Little Mermaid!

See him feeling sick?
Poor Mr. B started feeling sick toward the end of the night and I wasn't nearly as sympathetic as I should have been considering he spent the next 5 days seriously ill (So much that we spent time in urgent care!) I forced him to suck it up so that we could stand in line for more than an hour to see World of Color. Love you babe... and sorry again!

Happy Birthday Dear JT

Introducing our hilarious and smart, precocious, clever, loving, kind and empathetic son has turned SIX years old! JT decided earlier this year that instead of having a party for his birthday, he wanted to spend the night at Disneyland. We spent two rainy days and one rainy night at the Grand Californian Hotel. Upon check in, JT was given balloons and an autographed picture from Woody and Buzz! We had a family room that had bunk beds and a trundle bed as well as a queen size bed. Our room looked out over Grizzly Mountain in California Adventure and the Monorail went by every now and then. We bundled up in jackets and ponchos and enjoyed time together wearing our "Celebrating" buttons.
On Sunday morning after waking up, 6 years old in Disneyland, Maga, Breeze and Neilio met us at the StoryBook Cafe for a Character Birthday breakfast. After which we ventured in to the wet to meet Auntie Amber and GK in Disneyland. We hung in until about 3 o'clock at which point we were too soaked to continue. After a lunch at the Pacific Wharf (JT's favorite place to eat) huddled under a bread factory window hang, we finally threw in the towel. We had a wonderful time though and I think he'll always remember it.
Before school let on on Friday, I sent goodies to JT's class and they celebrated his birthday (since he wouldn't be there on the actual day)! New crayons for everyone!
Monday night, for family night we had some of our close friends over for "Homemade Cards and Cupcakes". I got a giant cup cake silicone pan and so at the lilloman's request, we had mint chip cupcakes and watched Despicable Me.
We sure do love this boy and are so grateful for what he brings to our family. We LOVE you JT!

All dressed up with places to go, our Frightfully Fun Halloween!

Halloween isn't typically one of the holidays we go all out for... In fact, when we drive by the houses that are crazy decorated by October first there's a definite mumble of, "crazy white people" haha. Well, this year, I had these little B's all costume ready by the time they had cleared out the school supplies at Target. Always attempting, never successful at Family Costuming, Hea Bug and JT were dressing up as Tinkerbell and Peter Pan. As long as JT get's some sort of weapon, he's satisfied... last year it was wolverine chopstick claws, the year before, Indiana's whip... Peter Pan has a dagger, he's happy.

This year we dove right in with the activities. The Disney Store at the Lakewood Center Mall hosted a pre Halloween costume party, kinda lame but the kiddos had a good time.

Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland was MUCH more fun! We only trick or treated at maybe 3 or 4 of the 10 stations set up throughout the park and seriously came home with about 10lbs of candy! We had a great time there, GK joined us so we took advantage of that, "We're with the scooter" front of line pass. So many great costumes to be seen though! The park and the fireworks were awesome and HeaBug rocked out to some dance favorites at Club Skellington in New Orleans Square.

We were supposed to venture off to San Pedro with our Schlarb Ohana but they all came down with some yucky sick bug so they weren't able to join us at Pt Fermin Lighthouse. For a $15 donation, we toured the "Haunted Lighthouse" (which freaked out the little man), painted a pumpkin, decorated treat bags (one for himself and one for his sister who had gone to a halloween party at Uncle Kene's ward), sipped a cup of cocoa and snagged a string cheese. It was ok, for people who don't normally do the "Halloweeny" stuff. The sunset from the bluff was outta sight though. The pre festivity play on the playground was pretty fun too.

JT had "Trunk or Treat" at school on Friday then HeaBug and I went to our church trunk or treat. I was glad we got some serious use out of our costumes this year! Both kiddos were feeling under the weather over the weekend so we decided to stick close to home and just pass out glow sticks, candy and healthy treats at our door. We didn't get too many trick or treaters but the ones who did come were very cute. JT had glow bracelets all over his arms and was standing at the end of the walkway waving and saying "Over Here! We have candy, come trick or treat!" Kinda sad when  you have to recruit trick or treaters huh?!

We had fun, stayed safe and spent a lot of time together, when it comes down to it, one can't really ask for more!

Hea BUG is 1!

We celebrated as Hea Bug turned 1 year old! She was surrounded by family, friends and a whole lotta love. Hea Bug was a big fan of hearing the Happy Birthday Song sung to her.

The rain couldn't stop our partying although holding everything inside was definitely a new experience. She knew exactly what to do with her cake and presents.

She romped like a champ with all the kids that were bigger than her. She loved her birthday crown, tutu and wings.

We also went to Disneyland the day before her actual birthday with our wonderful friends, the D's that live in Germany!

It was great to see them and Ms. Riss, who's just getting taller and wiser every time we see her! We had such a blast with them and look forward to hopefully seeing them again this summer in Europe!

(Casey Jr. at night is a WHOLE 'Nother Story!)

She's loved beyond measure and not only lights up but adds lots of sparkle to our lives.

Love you Hea Baby!

Summer's almost gone...

This summer has brought us a wide variety of experiences! As the end of August approaches I figured I ought to catch up on what has been keeping the Booth Ohana busy lately.

July 11th (the morning before Robert's baptism) We held a baby shower for my brother Keola and his Girlfriend, Amanda. We made a diaper cake and played funny games, ate some YUMMO food and decorated in a very green fashion (we hung baby clothes on a line with clothes pins, it was super cute).

There was a diaper raffle which was won by their friend Emily Jane. Two movie tickets and a $50 gift card to Lucille's! It was good fun and we were all anxiously awaiting the arrival of Little Anthony!

We didn't have to wait too long, he made his arrival on Thursday, July 23rd! He's such a cutie and we're so happy to have Teeny Kalani Man join us! His name is Anthony Richard Keola o'Kalani Kamae and he was 7lbs 9oz and 19 1/2 inches long. We <3 him!

Nohea is now officially eating solid foods. I heart my magic bullet and have made all of her food myself (YAY). She's been enjoying good ole applesauce, carrots, peaches, mango, papaya, poi, peas, bananas, rice cereal, oatmeal, cream of wheat, yogurt (frozen kine too), clam chowder, green beans and wild rice, chicken carbonara (Nohea says thanks Auntie) and zucchini! She likes to drink ice water out of her sippy cup too. She's getting SO big and growing SO fast. She rolls all over the place (until she get's stuck). I came into the living room the other morning and couldn't see her. I had a split second panic until I heard her from under the rocking chair! We now set up pillow barricades ;) She sits up for long periods of time and is trying SO hard to get up on her knees to crawl. She cut her first tooth last week and still loves to chew on everything!

Jack Jack broke his leg on August 3rd! He was on the trampoline and his uncle tried to "double bounce" him and he came down on his food and said he felt a "crack like a cracker mommy!". Luckily we had Uncle Craig here and as he was checking him over Jack cried, "Just give me a band aid and some bactine and some tylenol and I'll be fine" (through the tears mind you). We had him lay down for a little while and he was still pretty hysterical. Uncle Craig gave him a blessing and then Robert and I took him to the emergency room. He was still crying so much in the car and kept asking me to sing him some songs. When we pulled up outside the emergency room he asked if we could say a prayer for him to be strong like Nephi. I did just that, asking Heavenly Father to give him comfort and help him not be afraid, For strength and courage and Jack listened so intently. I love how teeny people have such enormous faith, he was crazy brave all during xrays and being moved twice. We found out that he fractured his tibia just up under the knee. He was put in a thigh high cast for up to six weeks. We're going back on the 1st to have it cut off and have another xray done. Hopefully he'll be all healed up. He got tiny crutches and gets around SO well. Half the time he just hops on one foot! The Drs. at the orthopedic office took his picture because they've never seen someone so small get around so well on crutches. Since then, he gets around at home fine, at church fine, even at Disneyland! I did take the double stroller for him to be able to ride though :) He's been such a trooper but I know he's just itching to get outside and run and play!!

Otherwise, we've been good. We're looking forward to going out on the boat a few more times before it gets chilly. We're trying to stay busy with work and have Fall Ball coming up. Robert was also called to be the Asst. Cub Scout Master which we are all super excited about! We've been going out with the Missionaries to visit people too. We took the bike out to one of these lessons and I got a mean burn on my leg when i was climbing off the bike. New rule for Kryssie: No Church Clothes on the Motorcycle LOL!! We've also been finding time to go to the gym together, we've always enjoyed being work out buddies but with the baby and everything it was difficult to find the time. We try hard to to it although typically it means our workouts are at about 10 or 11pm. Thank goodness we go to 24 hr fitness ;) We're looking forward to getting ourselves physically fit again and as silly as it sounds, are having a fun time doing it!
