Went to a Dodger game with our homegirl MsLeiDy.
Took a quick midweek overnight to Vegas to snap cake smash & 1st birthday pics of Ms Abby
Went to a Dodger Game.
Auntie Nini moved  out :(
Went to a Dodger Game with our Imbach Ohana.
Celebrated our girl, Maile's 5th birthday
HeaBug moved into her own new room!
JT had his last day of 2nd grade!
We kicked off Summer with Jamba Juice!
Both kids too swim at the YMCA
Celebrated Fathers! Especially this amazing guy.
Spent a week in Laughlin at Lake Mohave/ the River with our Booth Fam.
Our nephew Elisha celebrated his 12th birthday!
Spent the weekend in San Diego with our friends watching the Dodgers beat the Padres at PETCO Park.
Left early on Sunday because Mr B was in intense pain! Drove straight to Maga's to drop off the kids then went to Urgent Care where tehy sent him to the ER where they admitted him for Gallbladder issues.
He never stops. We were in the hospital for 4 days! Thanks to my wonderful sisters and mom, I was able to stay with him almost the entire time!
After having the blocked stone removed, he was scheduled for a laproscopic surgery to remove the gallbladder.
After being discharged (and a quick stop at work) he went home to recover. Took a day off and then painfully got back to the grind. Thank you to everyone who brought meals, picked up kids, brought meds, sent texts, prayed and offered good healing thoughts!
Kids spent some time at the shop and we bought a new piece of equipment called a CNC machine.
And JT went to his first week of Dirtbag Baseball camp.
Phew!
Up next, July!

Home sick and hunting for eggs

We are scheduled to leave for Hawaii on Monday. We've planned this trip almost a year in advance. Everything is booked. Thursday, I get a call from the school that JT is in the nurses office with a 103.1 fever. I rush from the shop to pick him up and bring him back to work with me stopping briefly for tylenol, ibuprofen and these stick on your forehead cool gel things.

Poor boy. I made an appointment to see the Dr that afternoon. We got in and she says it's a virus. We're about 1 full day in so his fever should clear within 3 days then he'll have a cough. I tell her we are going on vacation. She says worst case scenario, there is a Kaiser in Hawaii.

He stays home from school the next day too. It's the Friday before Spring Break. I specifically remember being sick in elementary school and missing the Friday before the Break. I missed the classroom candy, the Easter party. It's all good though since they don't do things like candy and Easter in school anymore. sigh.

By Saturday he seems to be eating again, the fever is staying down. They dye Easter eggs.

Sunday, after a morning of candy and easy pull apart danishes we head to church. We come home and I cook a giant meal while packing all of our clothes for a week. We hide and hunt for eggs.

They grub down on too much sugar. I'm setting the table as we watch a movie that HeaBug got in her Easter basket... Cirque Du Soleil: Worlds Away.

And then it comes. The puke. Suddenly. And with it... a fever. For HeaBug.

A shower, some tylenol, and a bed on the couch later, some of us sit down to eat a bit of what was going to be fabulous food.

HeaBug swears to never eat purple peeps again.

No need to take her in, I know what this is. It's the virus. The one that JT had. Fever for 3 days then lots of coughing.

Darn you sick. We are still going to Hawaii tomorrow.
Happy Easter. Love the Booth Ohana

Maga gets a new knee

This post is mostly made up a series of Facebook posts. I just wanted to make sure that I remembered these because as I've said before, this blog is as close to a journal as I get these days.

Maga August 20:
Found out today that I get to have knee replacement This Wednesday! Was originally scheduled for Oct. A cancellation gave me an opening! Nervous but very grateful. Won't know the particulars until tomorrow! Lots to prepare for!!

ME August 22: I've got a pager that will go off when I can see her in pre-op and a number so I can track her surgery on the monitor. Thankful for technology and wishing Mom a smooth knee replacement surgery!!

Me August 22: Mom is out of surgery and she did well :) Full knee replacement. Metal and plastic parts. It was bone on bone inside due to severe arthritis . She was slightly anemic going in so they will watch her blood count and if she needs a transfusion they will do it at night. 50-60 year old patients normally go home next day but it will depend on how long it takes for the femoral block to wear off. (and she's not 50 yet) It will be 1.5 hours before I can go in. — with Liz Kamae.

Me August 23: My mom is still in the hospital (Downey Kaiser). They unwrapped her knee this morning and it was still in the process of draining. The physical therapist saw her and got her up and out of bed. She walked around the bed and to the chair but hot super dizzy so they had her lay back down. She got two straight hours of sleep though. Therapy later was bending and straightening the knee 7 times. She said it was "challenging" (because she wouldn't complain ever). She will see the therapist again at 8am and will know then if she can go home tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for your well wishes, she is so touched by your concern! Message me if you would like her number or address. ♥ — with Liz Kamae.

Strongest chick I know. Mr. B and I had plane tickets that took us out of town the following weekend and campsite reservations in Jalama so I was really worried about how she would manage. She had wonderful friends look in on her and is doing amazing in her recovery! So glad that she won't have to live with the awful pain in her knee anymore. My kids are excited that she has a "bionic" leg now.

Love you Maga
