Large Art... In our living room.

So when we moved in to our house, the fireplace was flanked by these coves. On the right, we decided to create a custom built in cabinet to house our electronics and movie collection. The side by side doors were painted the same color as the wall. I had an idea that maybe we could hang a picture that also split in the middle so that it gave an appearance of a solid wall instead of these giant grey doors. Mr. B proposed we use a scenic artist buddy to paint the picture directly on the doors. We decided to use a family picture and in the flurry of all of our summer activity, I ended up grabbing this pic from my Facebook... We figured a cool 12"x12" instagram-ish looking pic of us in Yosemite would be fun.
Well... Something got lost in translation because Mr. B went to pic up the doors from our artist friend's house and the image was more than significantly larger that we had EVER EVER EVER imagined...

Mr. B put them up and I could only laugh because if I didn't have I would be mad. I called my girlfriend Cakestina and listened to her laugh, which made it easier for me to laugh.

When we are walking down the hall, we can see the reflection of a person and it sure did freak me out the first few times... I've since gotten used to it. We are waiting for a down period at work when the guys can build me new blank doors. I think the painting is amazing for what it is but I am neither president, royalty, Kardashian or Paris Hilton so something this big doesn't really fit in here at the house.... Mr. B would like to feature it in our Christmas card this year... If he wins, go ahead, chuckle away. Side note, Mr. B has been fired from his official family art negotiator position. No hard feelings ;)
