New Uke

I spent my whole life listening to my dad beautifully sing and play the ukulele. We were encouraged always to embrace music. Yeah that worked. Like hard core. I have a vault of songs stored in my brain. Mr. B calls us the Von Trapps because of our endearing burst into song quality. He really does like it. I know he does.

I have purchased my first and very own ukulele! There's a great little shop called Dave's Island Instruments and after one of JT's baseball games, I asked Mr. B to take me over to look at ukuleles. Now it's been on my list for a few years but I was always unsure of what size, what kind, what brand.... So many questions.

I learned to play on my dad's baritone ukulele. It's the largest and I thought that was standard but come to find out, many people play traditional small soprano ukuleles. I wanted to hold them to see what size fit me best. I ended up choosing a concert uke made of Koa wood with a pretty mother of pearl inlay. She sounded right, she felt good and I'm looking forward to playing and learning a lot more!
